Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you deal with personal questions?
    • Develop some ground rules in advance with the group about what is acceptable for your session.
    • Remember to refer the group back to the ground rules as needed.
    • Look at some of the top tips on the site.
  • I am being asked a question about something which is not relevant to the specific subject e.g contraception during a puberty talk?
    • You could suggest that although it's an interesting question, we are not talking about that today, and draw things back to the topic.
    • You could suggest the young person talk to their family about it, and also reassure them it will be discussed in more detail at secondary school.
    • You could provide a questions box and ask them to write down other questions they have.
  • I am anxious about delivering this, where can I get help?
    • Speak to other members of staff who have delivered SRE.
    • Speak to your local Young People's Health Advisor.
    • Contact our SRE professional.
  • My school is a faith school. Are these resources appropriate?

  • The site works fine at home but is blocked in my school/workplace?
    • Schools and organisations have filtering to block unwanted web content. Speak to your IT specialist to allow the URL of the site.
  • Why does my film not play all the way through when streaming?
    • This is probably due to your internet bandwidth. Allow some time for the film to load before trying to play it. A grey progress bar will tell you when it's ready.
    • If you click out of your browser midway through the film, you should be able to pick up where you left off, when you return.
    • Make sure you are running the most recent version of your browser.
    • Try closing all open windows and processes on your computer except for the video and see if there is any change.
    • If your connection is routinely slow or you live in an area with low bandwidth we do offer the film on DVD. Please email julia@catchermedia.co.uk for details.
  • My organisation requires a purchase order number to be assigned, is this possible?
    • Yes there is a section on the payment page where you can assign a PO number.
    • Don't forget it's free to professionals working in Walsall.
